Technology Game Demonstration Written Assignment

 Kahoot – Soft & Hard   https://watch.screencastify.com/v/B42XmtyPrT0t8n8MBVwq

I chose to create a kahoot game about soft and hard objects because it was a part of the small group options for the unit. The objective was embedded in Creative Curriculum Objective 12 that explains that the learner should be given opportunities to remember and connect experiences, as well as recognize, recall and use classification skills (The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool, n.d.). AT the same time Creative Curriculum Objective 28 suggest Using tools and other technology to perform tasks (The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool, n.d.). Therefore, I chose to maximize learning by combining standards from a variety of domains of learning to demonstrate creativity and critical thinking.  I believe this is what Hughes and Roblyer are referring to when they speak of the 21st century teacher that is intentional with utilizing the International Society for Technology in Education [ISTE] which focusses on the framework of how to utilize technology with all standards (Hughes & Roblyer, 2019).

At the same time, I assessed the needs of my students to be introduced to technology in preschool and not only with how to manipulate the tools but to also understand that they have a purpose.  Consequently, Replacement Amplification Transformation [RAT] was evident in the Kahoot Hard & Soft Game as I used that opportunity to present standard base learning in digital form (Hughes & Roblyer, 2019).

In closing, I was pleased with the outcome of the game and being able to observe students’ ability to understand the concept and their ability to manipulate the computer at the same time.
